CATHERINE BELL
Catherine Lisa Bell born August 14 1968 is an American actress known for her role of Lieutenant Colonel Sarah Mackenzie of the television show JAG from 1997 to 2005. Currently she stars in the Lifetime Television hit series Army Wives as Denise Sherwood. Catherine was born in London but moved to California with her Iranian mother at age 2. Her mother still acts as her personal assistant. As a child she acted in various TV adverts. She went to UCLA to study biology but dropped out to become a model in Japan. She moved back into acting with a Mexican commercial for Amex and then followed that up by being Isabella Rossellini's nude body double in Death Becomes Her (1992) where she also met her future husband Adam Beason who was director Robert Nemesis’s assistant. The couple currently live near L.A. with their daughter Gemma.Catherine and Adam were married on the 8th of May 1994 after having been together for two years. They live in Hollywood Hills with their two Italian Greyhounds Leo & Zoe. The couple enjoys safely engaging in what some would call dangerous and extreme sports. Catherine and Adam own several motorcycles including a Ducati acquired in 1999. The two bungees jumped off a bridge together and in the spring of 1997 Catherine and Adam previewed the rides and attraction of an amusement park for the Travel Channel. In addition in April of 1999 Catherine drove in the 23rd Annual Toyota Pro Celebrity Race in Long Beach California. She drove the car and placed 8th overall the 2nd woman to finish. Catherine Bell was among the fastest female qualifiers and replied to her presence at the race with "I’m a crazy chick".
One of Bell's first modeling jobs was an extended assignment in Japan. When she returned to California she studied acting at the Beverly Hills Playhouse with Milton Katselas.
She was a freelance masseuse whose clientele included singer Peter Gabriel. She was on the game show To Tell the Truth in 1990 where she mentioned that she was a massage therapist she was one of the imposters on the show playing an imposter of a body double named Shelly Michelle. Her first television acting role was one line on the sitcom Sugar and Spice (1990).In 1996 Bell began her role as Marine Lieutenant Colonel Sarah Mackenzie in the series JAG. She continued in this role until 2005 and it became the role for which she is most well known.Over time Catherine Bell has meet several actual JAG lawyers, and most often hears that their job is nothing like what Mac and Harm do on the show; mostly, they say, they just behind desks and do paperwork.
