AVRIL LAVIGNE
Avril Lavigne was born in Belleville Ontario Canada on September 27 1984. At 16 she moved to Manhattan and began work on her debut album. She dropped out of high school after the 11th grade when she secured a record deal. When Aril was almost 18. She released "Complicated" from her debut album titled. Let go which went 6 xs platinum. As a petite skater girl from a small town Avril has shown she is independent full of confidence and determination providing a good combination to make Complicated and Avril a musical breakthrough. In November 2000 Ken Kroger an A and R representative invited Antonio L.A. Reid then head of Arista Records to producer Peter Zizzos Manhattan studio to hear Lavigne sing. Her 15 minute audition so impressed Reid he immediately signed her to Arista with a deal worth 1.25 million dollar for two albums and an extra 900,000 dollar for a publishing advance.
By this time Lavigne had found that she fit in naturally with her hometown high schools skater clique an image that carried through to her first album but although she enjoyed skateboarding school left her feeling insecure. Armed with a record deal she dropped out to focus on her music career but she still had to inform her parents of her decision. Her music took a more contemplative turn on 2004's Under My Skin which did not fare as well as her first album. Still she had two modest hits "Don't Tell Me" and "Nobody's Home" and one Top 10 track, "My Happy Ending". While many of her songs explored relationship troubles and woes, Lavigne's personal life seemed to be going well. She married fellow musician Deryck Whibley in 2006. Returning to her more up-tempo and exuberant pop style, Lavigne released The Best Damn Thing in 2007. She landed a Top 10 hit with the infectious "Girlfriend." A Rolling Stone critic called the song "hyper catchy" and said that the album had "big doses of usual sass, anger, and vulnerability. Her marriage to Deryck Whibley of Sum 41 did not stand the test of time and the pair announced that they were separating on 17 September 2009. Their divorce was finalized on 16 November 2010.The former husband and wife did not let the small matter of a divorce interfere with their professional life, and Dig by went on to co-produce Living’s latest album Goodbye Lullaby.
