Alexis Bledel full name Kimberly Alexis Bledel was born on September 16, 1981 in Houston, Texas, USA. Alexis Bledel is an American actress. Her father, Martin Bledel, is Argentine and her mother, Nanette Dozier is of Mexican-American parents of French and German descent; she has a younger brother, Eric David Bledel, born in 1986. Her first language is Spanish. Alexis Bledel's parents encouraged her to try Community Theater at the age of eight to overcome her shyness. She is perhaps best known for her role in the television series Gilmore Girls and for the films Tuck Everlasting, Sin City, and The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants.
Alexis Bledel was voted one of Teen People's "Hottest Stars under 25". Among her earliest film appearances was an unaccredited role as an extra in Rushmore, which was shot in her hometown. Alexis Bledel is famous because she is the actress who plays the role of Rory from the TV series "Gilmore Girls". She is famous because is a beautiful lady and a very talented actress and model in the same time because she worked for five years like model. Houston, Texas native Alexis Bledel made her television debut in "Gilmore Girls", after spending years in front of the camera as a model. Bledel's parents encouraged her to try community theater in Houston when she was 8 years old, hoping it would help their daughter overcome her shyness. She went on to perform in productions of Our Town, The Wizard of Oz and Aladdin, and later was scouted in a local mall to model. She began her modeling career while still in high school, traveling all over to locations like Tokyo, Milan, New York and Los Angeles. The first acting role Alexis ever went out for, she landed. It was the role of Rory Gilmore on The WB's Gilmore Girls. For the past five seasons, Alexis has continued with Gilmore Girls, but hasn't limited herself to TV. In 2002, Alexis landed the role of Winnie Foster in the Disney flick, Tuck Everlasting. In 2005 Alexis Bledel had a small role in Frank Miller's Sin City and she also takes on the part of Lena in The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants - due out June 1, 2005.
