ANGELINA JOLIE

Angelina Jolie Voight born June 4 1975 is an American actress and director. She has received an Academy Award two Screen Actors Guild Awards and three Golden Globe Awards and was named Hollywood's highest paid actress by Forbes in 2009 and 2011. Jolie is noted for promoting humanitarian causes as a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. She has been cited as the world's "most beautiful" woman a title for which she has received substantial media attention. In the 1990s Angelina Jolie became a popular actress. She gave a star making performance in the 1998 television film Gia based on the short tragic life of model Gia Marie Carangi which won her a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress. Famous for her off screen romances Angelina Jolie has been married twice. She married Hackers actor Jonny Lee Miller in 1995. 

The couple divorced in 1999. The next year Jolie married Academy Award winning actor Billy Bob Thornton. That union lasted until 2003. Jolie has stated that she now plans to spend most of her time in humanitarian efforts to be financed by her actress salary. She devotes one third of her income to savings one third to living expenses and one third to charity. In 2002 Angelina adopted a Cambodian refugee boy named Maddox and in 2005 adopted an Ethiopian refugee girl named Zahara. 

 Jolies dramatic feature film Beyond Borders parallels some of her real life humanitarian experiences although despite the inclusion of a romance between two westerners many of the movie's images were too depressingly realistic the film was not popular among critics or at the box office. Jolie has had a difficult relationship with her father. Due to Voight's marital infidelity and the resulting breakup of her parent’s marriage she was estranged from her father for many years. They reconciled and he appeared with her in Lara Croft Tomb Raider (2001) but their relationship again deteriorated. In July 2002 Jolie who had long used her middle name as a stage name to establish her own identity as an actress filed a request to legally drop Voight as her surname which was granted on September 12 2002. In August of that year Voight claimed his daughter had "serious mental problems" on Access Hollywood. In response Jolie released a statement in which she indicated that she no longer wished to pursue a relationship with her father. She explained that because she had adopted her son Maddox she did not think it was healthy for her to associate with Voight. In the wake of her beloved mother's death from ovarian cancer on January 27 2007. Jolie again reconciled with her father after a six year estrangement.
